Keep in mind- this is not a yard sale! Only bring what you would consider purchasing yourself! While we promise to care for your items like they were our own, Merry Go ‘Round is not responsible for fire, theft, accident or damage to items.
PREPARING ITEMS
1. Clothing must be freshly laundered & on a wire or plastic children’s hanger with the hook opening to the left (like a question mark). Items that are ironed look newer so they sell quicker & at a slightly higher price!
2. Secure pants & 2-piece outfits to upper portions of hanger with safety pins. Do not pin articles of clothing to each other as this can cause holes/tearing.
3. Complete a 3x5” index card for each item. Other sized cards will not be accepted! Write acct# in top right corner (it
helps when we sort cards if you'll use a colored marker or
other creative touch when writing your acct #); include brief item description & size in center of card. Put price (50¢ increments only) in bottom right corner. If you do not wish to have item ½-price Saturday, write “ND” in large red letters beside price. $2 min. on clothing please (can combine items on hanger to equal $2). If you wish to have the item donated if it does not sell, please put a LARGE green "D" in the top left corner.
4. Carefully affix each card to the top right corner of your clothing item with a straight pin. For non-clothing items, affix cards using methods that prevent the card from being lost. Place small parts for toys in Ziploc bags & attach securely.
PRICING ITEMS
1. With the current state of the economy, many people are on a budget. Our sale will be attracting these price-conscious shoppers more than ever, so it’s important to price your items accordingly!
2. We know from experience that consignors who price their items to sell (25 – 40% of the original cost) & participate in the Half Price Sale will sell more items & have higher sales totals! If you’re not sure how to price an item, ask us.
3. Brands that are in high demand will sell for slightly more, especially if item is new: boutique store items, Kelly’s Kids, Ragsland, Beaux et Belles, Gymboree, GAP, Old Navy, Lands End, TCP, Justice, Aeropostále, Limited Too, Abercrombie, etc. Smocked clothing is also a big seller!
4. Please keep in mind that we receive a large amount of infant clothing- be very selective in what you bring & price it competitively!
DROP OFF
1. DROP OFF FOR FALL/WINTER SALE: We will receive items at Black Creek Arts Gallery, 1st floor, on Tue 8/24 8a –
2. Please have all clothing grouped into gender & size; this will expedite your drop off appointment! We will quickly examine your items then have you place them on the appropriate racks.
3. You will be asked to sign the consignor agreement in the “yellow book”. The drop off process should take about 15-20 min. Please do not be offended if we are unable to accept some of your items. This allows us to maintain the highest quality sale.
PICK UP
1. PICK UP FOR FALL/WINTER
2. Remaining items will be donated to local charities.
3. This is very important since we are unable to store your items! If you indicated that you would like your unsold items returned, you MUST come and pick them up at the indicated time. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this as we need to be out of the facility.
